Binational group forms to address border issues
SAN YSIDRO – The San Ysidro Chamber of Commerce has joined forces with all five Baja California border cities and with chambers of commerce from here to Calexico to create the Binational Chamber of Border Commerce.
The group will meet to tackle common issues that affect business on both sides of the border. Those issues, the group says, include inefficient border-crossing inspections and a lack of infrastructure.
Jason M-B Wells, San Ysidro Chamber of Commerce executive director and Binational Chamber of Border Commerce organizer, said the border business group can't sit idly by while politicians in Washington, D.C., and Mexico City decide what's best for ports of entry 3,000 miles away.
We live this every day,” he said. “We know what works.”
Wells said the border between California and Baja California is home to the busiest land port of entry in the world, the second-busiest cargo crossing and the largest binational economy in the Western Hemisphere.
►Today I read on the newspaper that The United States and Poland reached a long-stalled deal yesterday to place a U.S. missile-defense base on Polish territory, in the strongest reaction so far to Russia's military operation in Georgia. Russia reacted in anger, saying the move would worsen relations with the United States that already have been strained severely in the week since Russian troops entered separatist enclaves in Georgia, a close U.S. ally. But the deal also reflected growing alarm in countries such as Poland, once a conquered Soviet client state, about a newly rich and powerful Russia's intentions in its former Cold War sphere of power. In fact, negotiations dragged on for 18 months but were completed only as old memories and new fears surfaced over the past few days. Those fears were codified to some degree in what U.S. officials characterized as unusual aspects of the final deal: that at least temporarily, U.S. soldiers would staff missile sites in Poland oriented toward Russia, and that the United States would be obliged to defend Poland in case of an attack with greater speed than required under NATO, of which Poland is a member. Polish officials said the agreement would strengthen the mutual commitment of the United States to defend Poland, and vice versa.
►I agree because in my hypothesis less war is better.
►I also agree because a war between USA an other country could emerge.
►I agree because I implicate that USA should help.
►I think that the most interesting fact is that we for sure will never know what is really happening.
- The San Diego Union Tribune
- Beetle felling backcountry oaks
- The article that I read today was about a bug. The bug is IMPLICATED on the deaths of at least 10,000 oaks. High rates of tree deaths increase fire danger, raise the potential for heavy soil erosion, and reduce habitat for numerous birds and mammals. The insect is called Agrilus coxalis. It is a metallic-green, bullet shaped wood borer. Scientists previously have not linked it to tree deaths in southern California. It is HYPOTHESIZED that the beetle will EMERGE towards Julian to coast live oaks and California black oaks in many parts of the state. The bugs are not a concern for evergreen trees. Cleveland forest officials are educating partner agencies and creating anti-beetle plans for 2009.
- This is a pretty interesting article. One interesting thing that I learned is that the beetle is so rare that it doesn’t have an accepted common name. Forest officials don’t even know how to stop its spread.
Oil prices dropped below US$114 a barrel Friday in Asia as investors speculated slowing economic growth in the world's largest economies will continue to undermining global crude demand.
Oil prices dropped lower on speculation that demand will fall further in the coming months.
Light, sweet crude for September delivery fell US$1.54 to US$113.47 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange by midafternoon in Singapore. The contract fell 99 cents overnight to settle at US$115.01 a barrel.
"Worries about an economic slowdown in the U.S. and Europe, and even Japan, are weighing on the oil market," said Victor Shum, an energy analyst with consultancy Purvin & Gertz in Singapore.
Europe's biggest economies -- Germany, France and Italy -- all contracted in the second quarter. Japan said this week its gross domestic product also shrank in the April-June period.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported earlier this week a bigger-than-expected drop in gasoline supplies, but also said U.S
Today in the union tribune, I read that bigfoot is captured but dead. A policeman and a former corrections officer say that on Friday they will unveil evidence of what they claim is their biggest find ever: the body of Bigfoot. Matthew Whitten and Rick Dyer, a pair of Bigfoot-hunting hobbyists from north Georgia, say they found the creature's body in a wooded area and spotted several similar creatures that were still alive. The carcass of the furry half-man, half-ape is 7 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs more than 500 pounds, they say. However, the two are not disclosing the exact location of their discovery to protect the remaining creatures. A photograph on that group's Web site shows what appears to be the body of a large, hairy creature with an ape-like face, stuffed into a large freezer. DNA tests on the body have begun, said the statement, and "extensive scientific studies" will be done on the body by scientists, including a molecular biologist, an anthropologist and a paleontologist. But he said that even in north Georgia, home to the Blue Ridge Mountains and the foot of the Appalachian Trail, it stretches the imagination to think a family of 7-foot-tall creatures could have eluded hunters, hikers and creeping development until now. To the average person, these places just seem like extreme wilderness where you'll find lions and tigers and bears, The reality is that you're never more than a mile from a road. The group says the animal is male, has reddish hair and "blackish-gray" eyes and human-like feet, hands and teeth.
I always knew bigfoot was real. I never have a doubt about anything mystical creatures and the cryptozooligists that study them, I can’t wait to science proves the loch ness monster real so I can rub it in so many people’s faces and I can say I told you!
The article I read this morning was really interesting. I read about a beetle that is killing trees. The beetle is a metallic-green, bullet shaped wood borer. Scientist are researching the beetles because of the fact that they have killed 3 forest so far. He 3 forest that the beetles have killed already are l0cated in the states of California. The beetle has killed about 10,000 oaks so far this year. Forest officials do not know how to stop the spread of these beetles. Cleveland forest officials are creating anti-beetle plans for 2009.
I think that a solution about these beetles needs to be made soon. I believe that if these beetles aren’t prevented from killing our trees will soon make things for the whole world go wrong. Trees are a very important part of everyone's lives and it will affect every single person at least in the state of California.
An interesting fact that I read in the article was that these beetles are so random that there is no accepted common name.
Today I read a article about a man who is wanted in a lot of hypothesis incident exposures. And they say that he emerged again last week by entering two apartments and exposing himself to women that are alone. He is implicate for up to11 incidents during the past year, but this time he did his sick act in the south of the del sol neighborhood. This man who is bilingual often makes eye contact with women and then he exposes himself and masturbates looking at them.
Today in the San Diego Union Tribune I read about in the latest sign of trouble in the planet’s chemistry the number of oxygen-starved “dead zones” in coastal waters around the world has roughly doubled every decade since the 1960’s. was the HYPOTHESIS of researchers. Because many EMERGE and kill fish. There is so many things that are happening in this country, or this world. Who is to blame? Who could IMPLICATE why many things are falling?
