In a rare decision, the district Attorney’s Officer yesterday with a felony for shooting a mother and her son during a confrontation in an ocean side parking lot when he was off duty.
The officer Frank White, fired five rounds into a car driven by Rachel Silva in the parking lot of a supermarket March 15, culminating what Oceanside police have described as a road-rage incident.
In my opinion the officer didn’t have the right to shoot random bullets into the car, knowing someone could really get hurt or even die I think he should get some time in prison.

Arm of dismembered British teen found, officials say

A Brazilian laborer walking in the area found the arm Sunday, a week after the torso of 17-year-old Cara Marie Burke was discovered in a suitcase near a different river.

Police inspector Carlos Raimundo Batista said Monday that authorities are confident the arm found is that of Burke.
Brazilian authorities said the left arm of a British teen who was dismembered has been found along the banks of a remote river near the central city of Goiania.
Police said 20-year-old Mohammed D'Ali Carvalho dos Santos confessed that he dumped Burke's head and limbs into the river.

Police said Santos killed Burke because she threatened to tell his family that he was addicted to cocaine and was dealing the drug.

Today in the union tribune, I read that sal Masekela, the hip, dreadlocked host of the X-games is standing in a cherry picker, 45 feet above an Encinitas parking lot. Masekela drops a cinder block and when it shatters he says look at what happened to the cinder block after I dropped it from 45 feet. He repeats the routine with a watermelon, then an egg. Chunks of concrete, dirt, seeds, juice, and yolk are splashed across the pavement. The CIVIL segment, which ESPN taped to promote this years X-games, served to hype Jake Brown’s comeback after his spectacular big air skateboarding crash at last years event. X-games 14 began Thursday. ESPN opens it’s coverage with the big air at staples center. And who is the first skate scheduled to drop in the 62 foot high, 292 foot long ramp? Carlsbad’s Jake Brown. Sitting at an Encinitas cafĂ© last week, Brown, 33, contemplated what the atmosphere will be like tonight, when the lights are shining on him as he teeters atop his board near the rafters, when a packed crowd and millions in 194 countries anticipate his return. Imagining what the audience will be thinking, the native Australian leaned back in his chair, laughed and CONFERRED, here comes this idiot again. Is this guy crazy or what? What’s he got this time for us?
I think that jake brown had to debate with some of the fellow pro skaters to be doing the big air again because I saw it last year and it gave me nightmares.

“Farming's parched future”
►What I read today on the newspaper was that In the Imperial Valley, wheat farmers such as Mark Osterkamp greatly increased the acreage they planted – and their water use – with an eye toward reaping big profits this year. Three hundred miles north, in the heart of California, nearly 50,000 acres of San Joaquin Valley cotton fields were left unplanted or abandoned by growers faced with severe water shortages, such as Fred Starrh. As in real estate, it's all about location. Growers close to major rivers, such as the Colorado, Feather and Sacramento, routinely weather California's periodic dry spells thanks to priority water rights and, in some cases, a bountiful underground supply. Others, dependent on California's convoluted system of irrigating its $31 billion-a-year agriculture industry through a network of state and federal water projects, find themselves far down the priority list when supplies run short. Caught in the middle are the farmworkers and merchants in rural areas who count on a steady stream of farm dollars for their livelihoods.
►I agree because farmers had some CONFERRING around there.
►I also agree because there was some DEBATE also.
►I agree because CIVILIANS get benefited also.
►I think the most interesting fact is that there is also farming problems on the world.

- The San Diego Union Tribune
- D.A. charges officer in shooting
- The article that I read today was pretty interesting. It had to do with a civil case here in San Diego. It said that the officer Frank white was charged with a felony for shooting a mother and her son. He was charged by the District Attorney on Tuesday July 29 during the confer (court) of the case. This marks the first time in 13 years in the county that a law enforcement officer has been charged with a crime for shooting someone while acting under the color of authority. This incident happened in Oceanside in the parking lot of a Lowe’s store. The officer was debating not guilty for the crimes he was charged with. The victims was Rachel Silva and her son whose name was not mentioned.
- I think that this case is pretty interesting. I think that this officer is guilty and he should for what he did. One interesting thing that I learned is that it has been 13 years since a case similar to this one has happened.

The article I read today was about San Diego police searched today for a motorcyclist who robbed a gas station in Rancho Bernardo. The robbery at the Westwood Shell Gas Station, 16998 West Bernardo Drive, was reported at 9:19 p.m. Sunday, according to San Diego police Sgt. Bob Dare. The thief placed an item on a sales counter and then reached over and grabbed cash from the register when a clerk opened it up to complete the transaction, Dare said. He fled with an undetermined amount of money on a black motorcycle with a red rear rim, the sergeant said. The bandit is white, in his mid to late 20s and around 6 feet tall. He wore a black motorcycle helmet with white stickers, a white and black motorcycle jacket and dark clothing.
My opinion about this article is I think he should of robbed the gas station on foot and then got on his ride a couple of blocks down.
My other opinion is that I bet they got him on tape.
My last opinion is he should of done a bank or something because a gas station is not enough money to get.
One interesting fact is if your going to rob a gas station don’t, do a bank.

In the Union-Tribune today, I read about driving and the talking on the phone situation. If you weren’t driving hands-free already, you’d better be now, particularly when cruising the streets of San Diego and National City. The hands-free state law went into effect July 1, and most law enforcement agencies in the county started enforcing it immediately. The law requires drivers to use an earpiece, headset or speaker with their cell phones. A sister law prohibits anyone under 18 from using a cell phone while driving. I think that is a good law, because talking on phones and driving is extremely dangerous and could cause accidents. I seen a lot of people get citations because of the law and the police are really cracking down on the issue.
