“Russia steps up Georgia assault”
►Today I read on the newspaper that Russia expanded its attacks on Georgia yesterday, moving tanks and troops through the separatist enclave of South Ossetia, and mounted its first direct assault on a Georgian city with ground forces after three days of heavy fighting. The maneuver – along with aerial bombing of the Georgian capital, Tbilisi – suggested that Russia's aims in the conflict had gone beyond securing the pro-Russian enclaves of South Ossetia and Abkhazia to weakening the armed forces of Georgia, a former Soviet republic and an ally of the United States whose Western leanings have long annoyed the Kremlin. Russia's moves, which came after Georgia offered a cease-fire and pulled its troops out of South Ossetia, sparked widespread international alarm and anger and set the stage for an intense diplomatic confrontation with the United States. Russia claimed to have sunk a Georgian boat that was trying to attack Russian vessels in the Black Sea, and Georgian officials said Russia sent tanks from South Ossetia into Georgia proper, heading toward a strategic city before being turned back.
►I agree because the war is also affecting DOMESTIC things.
►I also agree because the DIMENSION of the attacks could had grown.
►I agree because almost everybody DISPITES the war.
►I think the most interesting fact is that they are going to start a war over a little thing.

In the Union-Tribune today, I read about a man held on charges of threatening Obama. A man who authorities said was keeping weapons and military-style gear in his hotel room and car appeared in court yesterday on charges he threatened to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. Raymond Geisel, 22, was arrested Saturday by the Secret Service in Miami and ordered held without bail by a federal magistrate. According to someone else in the 48-member class, Geisel referred to Obama with a racial epithet and continued, “ If he gets elected, I’ll assassinate him myself.” I think a lot of racist people would try to assassinate Obama if he became president. People like that always try to bring my people down, but we are strong people, so it doesn’t do nothing but motivate us.

Today in the San Diego Union Tribune I read about Iraq and the United States are near an agreement on U.S. combat troops leaving Iraq by October 2010, with the last soldiers out three years after that. DESPITE the agreement U.S. officials insisted no dates had been agreed upon. The purposed deal calls for U.S. forces to hand over parts of Baghdad's DIMENSION (green zone) where the U.S. embassy is located, to the Iraqis by the end of this year. Hopefully the U.S gets out of Iraq completely because we had no reason to start a fight with them since the very beginning.

- The San Diego Union Tribune
- As families tighten belts, school attire gets cut too
- The article that I read today was about the economy. DESPITE the early age kids are getting schooled in the hard lessons of Economics 101, long before the first bell rings. A tumbling housing market and soaring gas and food prices have all forced families to trim their budgets. That means less money for the all important back to school shopping spree. This means that also many families are turning anti DOMESTIC. Retailers are already feeling the pinch. As weak July sales figures show consumers are cutting back on the sheer necessities. Analysts say it will be especially tough for higher end stores such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, and department stores such as Nordstrom as kids and parents search out values at more cost conscious stores such as Forever 21 and Target.
- I think that this is an important article. One interesting thing that I learned is that a Deloitte Services survey show 71 percent of all families will spend less and almost half will not spend at all. This article gave a new DIMENSION to our Economic problem.

Today in the union tribune, I read that Soul singer and arranger Isaac Hayes, who won Grammy awards and an Oscar for the theme from the 1971 action film Shaft, has died, sheriff's officials in Memphis, Tennessee, reported Sunday. Relatives found Hayes, 65, unconscious in his home DESIPTE the still-running treadmill. Paramedics attempted to revive him and took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 2 p.m.. No foul play is suspected. Hayes was a longtime songwriter and arranger for Stax Records in Memphis, playing in the studio's backup band and crafting tunes for artists such as Otis Redding, Sam and Dave, Carla Thomas and Johnnie Taylor in the 1960s. Among the songs he wrote for Stax artists, often with his partner David Porter, were Hold On, I'm Comin', Soul Man, When Something Is Wrong with My Baby and B-A-B-Y. Hayes released his first solo album in 1967, and his 1969 follow-up, Hot Buttered Soul, became a platinum hit. Hot Buttered Soul was notable for its lengthy, richly orchestrated covers of Walk On By and By the Time I Get to Phoenix, and became a hit on underground FM radio. From the late 1990s through 2006, Hayes provided the voice of Chef for Comedy Central's raunchy animated series South Park, as well as numerous songs.
DESPITE the DOMESTIC DEMENSION, there will be no new south park’s because of this horrible tragedy. Not only that this sucks for his family and the people that were a fan of his work.
