On CNN today I read about a 10 year old girl getting sexual abuse by her husband in Sanaa, Yemen. Nujood Ali is 10 years old, but she already has been married and divorced. It was an arranged marriage in which she said a husband three times her age routinely beat and raped her. "When I got married, I was afraid. I didn't want to leave home. I wanted to stay with my brothers and sisters and my mom and dad," she said, speaking to CNN with the permission of her parents.
"I didn't want to sleep with him, but he forced me to. He hit me, insulted me.” Nujood's parents married her off in February to a man in his 30s whom she describes as old and ugly. Nujood's father, Ali Mohammed Ahdal, said he is angry about what happened to his daughter. "He was a criminal, a criminal. He did hateful things to her," he said. "He didn't keep his promise to me that he wouldn't go near her until she was 20.“ I think in countries like that the young marriage is not right. The girl was only 10 and she had a husband that was 30. I would have hurt that guy if that was my daughter.
Today in the union tribune, I read that an old teacher of mine and pretty much my whole family named Craig kelso also known as Mr. kelso by everyone was arrested last night for having sexual relations with a former student of granger who is now 15. he was arrested in north park around 7 o’clock in his ford f-150 pick up. There was an allegation that he was headed to otay ranch high school where his wife works. There was said to be a fight with him and his wife and he was reportedly going to show up at the high school with a gun which caused a lockdown at the school for over an hour. He was missing for some days and reportedly had not come to school since Monday until his arrest yesterday.
I don’t think this is true because everyone that knows him knows he’s a good guy always giving advice and always making fun of people. Parents even knew that he wouldn’t even think of doing this to hurt his reputation or his family because he has two daughters including his wife.
Today I read in the union tribune about one of masons followers is doing life in prison her name is a Atkins know 60, has been diagnosed with brain cancer and has had a leg amputated, her attorney said. In June, she requested the release, available to terminally ill inmates with less than six months to live. The California Board of Parole Hearings' decision posted Tuesday on its Web site came after a public hearing on Atkins' request. It means the request will not be forwarded to the Los Angeles Superior Court that sentenced Atkins. The court would have had the final say on Atkins' release. Her attorney, Eric P. Lempel called the parole board's decision unfortunate.
I think that they should of let her out because it wasn't her fault that Manson brain washer. I think that they should help her get better so she can function in life.
Fact: the Manson Family as Sadie Mae Glutz, Atkins and four others were convicted in connection with the deaths of five people, including Tate, in August 1969.
“Inflation, Bernanke's warning rub salt in economy's wounds”
►The U.S. economic downturn gained steam yesterday, with a report of the highest inflation since the early 1980s and a suggestion by the Federal Reserve chief that worse days are ahead. President Bush sought to bolster confidence by declaring that the financial system was “basically sound,” but he conceded: “It's been a difficult time for many American families.” The Labor Department said wholesale inflation, driven by skyrocketing gas and food costs, rose 9.2 percent for the 12 months ended in June – the fastest pace since summer 1981, during another energy crunch. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke delivered a somber economic outlook to Congress, saying the nation faces “numerous difficulties” despite the Fed's interest-rate-cutting campaign, which began in September in the hope of preventing a recession. Bernanke said the Fed expected the economy to grow for the rest of this year “appreciably below its trend rate.” He cautioned that inflation was likely to move “temporarily higher.” That puts the Fed in a bind: Rising inflation hamstrings the central bank from cutting interest rates to jump-start the economy. The Fed had signaled last month that the rate cuts were probably at an end.
►I don’t agree because the TECHNIQUES to decrease the inflation don’t work.
►I also don’t agree because the answers are not VALID.
►I don’t agree because there is no other ACCESS.
►I think the most interesting fact is that the Labor Department said wholesale inflation.
Title: Carlsbad Bans Smoking on Beaches, Parks.
Story: The article I read today was about the Carlsbad City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to ban smoking on its mile-long stretch of beach and in its parks. Carlsbad is the last San Diego County coastal community to snuff out cigarettes. Five miles of beach to the south are in the state parks system, which doesn't have a smoking ban. The Carlsbad beach smoking ban was promoted by 16-year-old Carlsbad High School junior Michael Caraglio, who told the council, "Now we can all enjoy cleaner parks, beaches and trails."
My opinion about this article is I think that people are still going to be smoking they don’t care.
Anyways your still going to see cigarette butts everywhere.
My last opinion is I wonder how much the ticket will be if the police catch you smoking.
One interesting fact is I do think it’s a good way to keep beaches clean but I think it was wrong by doing it.
Drug smugglers bribing U.S. agents on Mexico border
On the news today a U.S. Border Patrol Agent Reynaldo Zuniga was arrested for accepting bribe from drug cartels for lugging a bag of cocaine. the number of government agents being bribe has jumped from 9,000 four years ago to 14,700 present. Although agents receive training on this topics smugglers use thousands of dollars to bribe them or use beautiful women to flirt with them so they would get the cargo on the U.S. U.S. Customs inspector Richard Elizalda, arrested in 2006, was paid $70,000 to let through hundreds of immigrants after a persuasive female smuggler he met at the San Ysidro crossing became his lover. But the campaign is weakened by cases like that of a border agent and his brother in Texas who netted $1.5 million by letting tons of marijuana through checkpoint inspection lanes from 2003 to 2005. Trafficking drugs and people generates billions of dollars a year. Powerful gangs use crooked officials well beyond the border to open smuggling lanes into the United States. In one case showing the breadth of the problem, two California-based employees of Wackenhut, a contractor that transports detained illegal immigrants, were charged last month with freeing them for $2,500 each. Also in June, police arrested a Los Angeles attorney for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for allegedly accepting huge bribes to issue green cards and other papers.
Today on the CNN website I read an article about A 22-year-old woman will probably face six years in prison after admitting that she and her boyfriend pulled off a brazen identity-theft scheme that funded trips, fancy dinners and expensive salon visits. In court on Monday petite Kirsch sported a rumpled green prison uniform as she pleaded guilty to aggravated identity theft and other federal crimes. The counts carry a two-year minimum sentence, but prosecutors expect her to get about six years under federal guidelines. Kirsch, speaking barely above a whisper, declined the judge's offer to comment after her plea. She did disclose that she has been receiving counseling and medication for mental health issues.
NATO FORCES ABANDON AFGHAN OUTPOST
Today in the CNN news i read, that forces have abandoned an outpost in eastern Afghanistan where nine U.S. soldiers were killed and 15 more injured repelling a fierce assault by Taliban militants last week.
Up to 200 militants were reported to have been involved in the attack, over-running a small U.S.-led observation point where most of the fatalities are believed to have occurred but failing to breach the main base. Afghan sources said up to 100 militants were killed in the fighting.
A spokesman for NATO's International Security Assistance Force said Wednesday that ISAF troops and Afghan National Security Forces would "continue to perform regular patrols near the village of Wanat."
"The citizens in Wanat and northern Kunar province can be assured that ISAF and ANSF are going to continue with a strong presence in the area,'" said spokesman Capt. Mike Finney said.
"We are committed, now more than ever, to establishing a secure environment that will allow even greater opportunities for development and a stronger Afghan governmental influence."
