Mexican soldiers seize over 7 tons of marijuana
TIJUANA – Mexican soldiers yesterday seized more than 6,650 pounds of marijuana inside three trailers parked near the Otay Mesa border crossing. Two of the unmarked white trailers had California plates, and the third had a Wisconsin plate.
The 392 seized packages were stacked at a Tijuana military base, where Gen. Sergio Aponte Polito, commander of the Second Military Zone in Baja California, briefed reporters.
Mexico's military has become increasingly involved in the battle against organized crime. The general said that since he came to head up military forces in Baja California, his forces have seized more than 1.15 million pounds of marijuana and 8,800 pounds of cocaine. –S.D.
“Invasion of the pests”
►I read today on the newspaper that Bill Pape used to enjoy sitting out in his garage each morning, reading the newspaper as he watched the day begin in the tiny high-desert town of Jacumba. No more. Pape said the gnats that swarmed around his head irritated him so much that they drove him inside. “It's changed our lives,” said Pape, 52, a retired airplane maintenance inspector who has lived in Jacumba for 16 years. “We don't do anything outside. You had to keep one hand free to get them out of your eyes.” Pape and others in the community 60 miles east of San Diego blame a 400-acre organic spinach and lettuce farm for the pests, but the farmer isn't convinced his fields are the cause. The eye gnats develop in moist soil used for agriculture, and are attracted to human and animal eyes because females use the protein from mucus for producing eggs.
►I don’t agree because the pests got ACCESS to our houses.
►I also don’t agree because there in no VALID pesticide that could kill that amount.
►I don’t agree because we didn’t use the TECHNIQUES to kill them all.
►I think that the most interesting fact is that there is a lot of this things around.
Story: The article I read was about A man disguised by fake whiskers and a wig resembling those worn by men in the 18th century robbed a Park West-area bank Thursday, authorities reported. The costumed thief handed a demand note to a teller at the Union Bank branch officer in the 300 block of Laurel Street about 11:45 a.m., according to San Diego police. The employee complied, and the bandit put the cash in a black backpack he was carrying and fled on foot to the north on Third Avenue. Witnesses described the robber as a 6-foot man who appeared to be in his 40s, wearing a "George Washington wig," a false white beard and a beige "floppy hat”.
My opinion about this article is I think this dude watched to much movies, I think he should of put a whole complete mask so that they wont see him, and pretty sure that their going to catch him. One interesting fact is he better be lucky or else he’s getting caught up.
Today on CNN, I read an interesting article about Jimi Hendrix. He would be featured in “Guitar Hero.” The Seattle-based company Experience Hendrix, which controls the rock icon's musical legacy, is providing Hendrix's music and likeness for the latest "Guitar Hero" video game, Aaron Grant, a spokesman for publisher and developer Activision and Red Octane, told The Associated Press on Thursday. An avatar of Hendrix as well as the song "The Wind Cries Mary" and a live version of "Purple Haze," which was recorded in 1969 at the San Diego Sports Arena, will be included on "Guitar Hero World Tour" -- the fourth edition of the popular game franchise scheduled for release Oct. 27. I think that’s have a good impact on the music world. Hendrix inspired a lot of artist no matter what genre or race. I look up to Mr. Hendrix as one of the most important artist in American history and he also motivated me to make good music.
women claims Spitzer call girl stole her identity!
Today in the CNN news today i read,A woman has sued the call girl linked to the downfall of New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer, claiming Ashley Dupre used her lost driver's license to appear on a "Girls Gone Wild" video.
A federal lawsuit filed this month by Amber Arpaio seeks unspecified monetary compensation for defamation and invasion of privacy.
Dupre has said she was only 17 when she signed a contract to appear in the "Girls Gone Wild" video.
The video displays a New Jersey driver's license in the name of Amber Arpaio and a birth date that would have made her appear to be in her 20s.
Arpaio, 26, of Sussex County, cannot recall where she lost the license and doesn't know Dupre, although the women have similar faces, said Arpaio's lawyer, Joseph J. Fell.
"Somehow, Ashley Dupre got ahold of the license and had it for some period of time," Fell said Thursday.
Arpaio also sued "Girls Gone Wild" founder Joseph Francis.
Lawyers for Francis and Dupre had no immediate comment. Dupre's publicist did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
Earlier this month, Dupre dropped her own lawsuit against Francis. She had claimed her name and image were exploited.
Dupre made news in March when she was identified as a high-priced call girl in the Emperors Club VIP prostitution ring whose client list included Spitzer, who resigned soon after the scandal broke.
Refection:i Think what the girl did was wrong and good that she, sued the girl and girls gone wild they should have never did that. LESSON learned never drop your I.D u never know who will get a hold of it.

Reflection- I think the fourth edition is going to be the best edition but they should make an all star edition.
Interesting fact- It's the first time Hendrix's likeness will be showcased in the game
Today in the union tribune, I read that Jimi Hendrix is coming to Guitar Hero. Experience Hendrix provided Activision and Red Octane with various songs from Hendrix, who famously played the Woodstock music festival in 1969 and died of a drug overdose in 1970. Other Hendrix tunes would be released in the future as downloadable content for the game.
