On CNN website today I read about James Brown and how they are gone to auction his belongings. A South Carolina judge says an auction of James Brown's belongings in New York can go forward as planned this week. South Carolina Court of Appeals Judge Jasper Cureton on Monday lifted a temporary stay that could have held up the sale of the late soul singer's belongings.
Christie's auction house has planned the bidding for Thursday. Among the items for sale are a red jumpsuit and a lock of Brown's hair. They claimed the court should not have been able to appoint new trustees to handle Brown's estate.
Brown died on Christmas Day in 2006 of heart failure. He was 73. I would love to own a piece of James Brown possession. All of his things would someday would be worth millions and whoever buy it at the auction would be lucky.
Today in the union tribune, I read that eBay Inc. scored an important victory in court Monday, as a federal judge said companies such as jeweler Tiffany & Co. are responsible for policing their trademarks online, not auction platforms like eBay. Tiffany had sued eBay over the sale of counterfeit jewelry on eBay's sites. U.S. District Judge Richard J. Sullivan in New York said in a Monday ruling that eBay can't be held liable for trademark infringement based solely on their generalized knowledge that trademark infringement might be occurring on their Web sites. Sullivan's ruling came in response to a lawsuit filed in 2004, in which the jeweler alleged that most items listed on eBay as genuine Tiffany products were fakes. The company said it had asked eBay to remove counterfeit listings, but the sales continued. EBay spokeswoman Nichola Sharpe said Monday that the ruling confirms that that eBay acted reasonably and has adequate procedures in place to effectively address counterfeiting.
Story: The article I read was about A state commission says California should get rid of its antiquated juvenile prisons by 2011 and replace them with regional lockups run by the counties. The regional centers would hold only the most dangerous offenders under the proposal unveiled yesterday by the watchdog Little Hoover Commission. The report suggests youth prisons have been a failure, saying three of four freed young offenders commit new crimes within three years. On top of that, a California law that took effect last year already requires the state to transfer all but the most serious offenders to county jurisdiction. The commission says that leaves state taxpayers paying for six, large aging institutions that are holding far fewer offenders.
My opinion about this article is I do think they should just keep the people who do big things.
the article i read today was Behind closed doors, the scientists and agents of the FBI scrutinize fibers, poisons, explosives, DNA and just about any other shred of evidence that might help solve crimes.
They can't talk about specific cases they're working. Yet the work they're doing can put people behind bars or lead to major advances in crime-solving techniques.
As the FBI hits the 100-year-mark and continues to evolve to meet the demands of the world, CNN visited the state-of-the-art crime lab in Quantico, Virginia. It's the same lab that inspired the hit television series "CSI."
Dozens of experts from an array of fields work under one roof.
"I think that's what really made a name for the FBI lab," said Robert Fram, chief of the FBI's scientific analysis section. "We were able to get involved in a lot of very high-profile cases, and get it done completely." Get a behind-the-scenes look at the lab
KEEP MANSON FOLLOWER IN PRISON,DA URGES!
Today in the CNN news today i read, about a very sick and nasty lady named Susan Atkins she was convicted of eight 1969 murders, is terminally ill.
Cooley says Atkins' crimes alone warrant denial of the request.
The district attorney notes that Atkins personally stabbed pregnant actress Sharon Tate, tasted her blood and used it to write the word "Pig" on the victim's door.
The parole board meets Tuesday.
Reflection;Atkins is very sick and needs special help, because things aren't right in her head. i think she should be kept in jail she took several peoples lives she should stay in jail for life, also because she took an innocent baby's life. keep her in JAIL she dosen't deserve FREEDOM for what she did.
