“New law a break for the big birds”
►What I read on the newspaper was that The California condor looks and feeds like the vulture it is and would never be confused with the majestic bald eagle. With a nearly 10-foot wingspan, the California condor can travel up to 150 miles in a day, and its average life span is 60 years. Today, there are nearly 300 condors, about half flying free, according to the conservation group Defenders of Wildlife. Nevertheless, it enjoys a coveted place on the U.S. Mint's California quarter and a less coveted spot on the U.S. Endangered Species List. Starting tomorrow, the condor will be provided another layer of protection when new hunting regulations go into effect. In territory shared with the condor, those who hunt deer, elk and other big game will be prohibited from using lead ammunition. Condors can be exposed to lead poisoning when they feast on carcasses containing bullet fragments, although responsible hunters bury these “gut piles.” Most recently, lead residue is suspected of killing one condor and sickening several others in southern Kern County last month. Gearing up for the change, the state has launched an education campaign, hoping to reach a potential 50,000 hunters by the start of deer season, Aug. 9. Each deer tag issued to hunters includes an advisory. Brochures in English, Spanish and Hmong will be distributed to sports shops and special programs on the availability and use of alternative bullets are being offered.
►I agree because this PROPORTION of bird could decrease and make them into endangered species.
►I also agree because they don’t REGISTER the deaths of this birds.
►In the other hand this people could be SCHEMING and cheating us.
►I think the most interesting fact is that they don’t have a real prove.

Today in the union tribune, I read that Retail gas prices and crude oil futures rose to record highs Monday amid a backdrop of Mideast tensions and dollar concerns. The national average PROPORTION price for a gallon of gasoline climbed to $4.086, according to a daily survey by motorist group AAA. That was up 0.7 cent from $4.079 the previous day, and eclipsed the previous mark of $4.08 set June 16. Gas prices have risen 2.9% in the last month and are almost 38% higher than where they were a year ago. Meanwhile light, sweet crude for August delivery rose $1.74 to $141.95 a barrel at 9:58 a.m. ET in overseas electronic trading. Earlier, crude prices hit $143.67 a barrel, setting a new trading record more than 50% above prices at the end of 2007. The high price SCHEME of crude oil, the primary ingredient in petroleum-based fuels such as gasoline and diesel, drives up costs for consumers and squeezes profit margins for refiners. Supply concerns Oil prices Monday were REGISTERED by threats of overseas supply disruptions and fears of a continued decline in the dollar.
I think that gas is too extremely high and the next president should do something about this. I also read that the ice in the north pole might be gone this summer because it is melting. They say if the ice melts there is oil under there so this might be a good thing.

In the news today, I read about for more than two years, undercover cops on the Sacramento Police Department's vice squad have been working one of the most draining beats: trying to crack down on online child prostitution. They had to SCHEME and go through a process to find out information about Craigslist. Police have nabbed nearly 70 girls under the age of 18 since 2005. Most of the girls were released to foster or group homes. Those are just the official figures; investigators think there are many more child prostitutes out there. Definitely there is more out there prostituting, but that was just in the Sacramento PROPORTION. When young females get REGISTERED on Craigslist, I get mad, but if it’s a grown lady I don’t see nothing wrong with that. It’s a way of life for some people and I think if I get in a situation that I have to post a lady on the list, I would do it.

Today on the CNN website I read an article about A man accused of killing his two young children appeared in court Wednesday as more details came out about the case, including how he allegedly covered up the crime. Prosecutors said Randy Sylvester 27, was the last person to see his 7 year-old son Randy Jr. and his 3 year-old daughter, Denim, alive on Father's Day. He has been charged with two counts of capital murder. The district attorney's office said Sylvester used cleaning supplies to cover up the crime in his Pasadena apartment. An unknown violent episode was given as the preliminary cause of death until specialists can examine the burned bodies more carefully.

Refection: My refection on this is what would make you kill your own children he has serious problems this guy is crazy.

The article I read about today was about the death of a pregnant soldier. Authorities are investigating the death of a pregnant Fort Bragg soldier they are treating the case as a homicide. Megan Touma was found June 21 at a Fayetteville, N.C. motel after a maintenance supervisor smelled a foul odor coming from her room. Megan was seven months pregnant and had just recently arrived from a base in Germany.
Interesting facts- Megan was a dental specialists.
My opinion- I think that was sad that she was killed especially since she is pregnant and a marine.

Today I read on cnn.com about Rusiana Korshunova the 20 year old supermodel who's faced graced the cover of Vogue. She committed suicide on Saturday when she fell from her ninth floor apartment in the New York’s financial district according to the medical examiners office. Korshunova appeared in advertisements and on runways for such designers as Marc Jacobs, Nina Ricci and DKNY. Her break came when modeling booker Debbie Jones noticed her while perusing an in-flight magazine article about Korshunova's hometown of Almaty, AP cited the Vogue report as saying. "She looked like something out of a fairytale!" Jones told the magazine, according AP. "We had to find her and we searched high and low until we did!"
Refletion- I would just like to know the real truth about this beautiful girl of why she killed her self and just why she had to ruin her life like that.
Interesting fact- She committed suicide on Saturday when she fell from her ninth floor apartment

Today the article I read was about the fires up north in California and how No new major fires had broken out Sunday as fire crews inched closer to getting some of the largest of 1,420 blazes surrounded, according to the state Office of Emergency Services. About 364,600 acres -- or almost 570 square miles have burned. A "red flag warning" meaning the most extreme fire danger -- was still in effect for Northern California until 8 a.m. ET Monday. And the coming days and months are expected to bring little relief. Lower than average rainfall and record levels of parched vegetation likely mean a long, fiery summer throughout Northern California, according to the Forest Service's state fire outlook released last week. The fires burning now were mostly sparked by lightning storms that were unusually intense for so early in the season. But summer storms would probably be even fiercer, according to the U.S. forest service. Well hopefully these fires are over soon because my dad is up there, so he could come home soon.

New scientific studies have discovered that CAT scans are not as inoffensive as they look. Various studies that they have made have unveiled the fact that because CAT scans release high amount of radiation they have the power to give patients cancer. The scans on their own and in extreme cases when they are really necessary are not bad. Yet what doctors and scientists are realizing is that they order multiple CAT scans due to the lack of communication between them. The problem does not in the actual CAT scans, the problem lies to the PROPORTION of scans given to a patient in a certain amount of time. Repetitive scans can be very harmful and since some doctors don’t really REGISTER what scans are given and which ones are missing it is very easy to repeat the scans multiplying the risks of obtaining cancer. That is why patients have to SCHEME plans that will help them better communicate with their doctors.
