Councilmen reverse course on pay raise
The San Diego city council's 24 percent raise because of the voters who found it outrageous. The voters tried to veto it yesterday. council president scoot peters and councilman Ben Hueso withdrew their support from the raise. Without them, Mayor Jerry Sanders’ promised veto would be sure to stands. A lot of voters were concerned about the timing when services and jobs are being cut most city workers don’t get enough money. In my opinion I think that they should raise the pay for workers because they need money to support there family's. I don’t think that the council is doing right by trying to reverse pay raise because a lot of people need the extra money or if not the need money to support them self's. I think people should get more money that what they are getting because it is not enough. Peter Hueso who proposed they pay increase to 93,485.

“Chargers: Not bolting from area”\
►I read today on the newspaper VARY, that a Los Angeles developer who announced plans to ACHIEVE to build a foot ball stadium yesterday is a friend of the Spanos family, owner of the Chargers, but the team has no plans to move there, according to a team spokesman. Also Edward Roski Jr. has discussed his plan to build an stadium, they COMPUTE the price is going to be $800,000 million, in a SPECIFIC place, in a suburb east of Los Angeles with San Diego President Dean Spanos and also inquired about the team’s general counsel and spokesman on stadium issues. According to Roski’s plan unveiled yesterday, the finish of the construction of the stadium could be OBTAIN by 2011 – although he still is seeking a team to plan in it. Chargers executives say they are focused on a plan to leave San Diego’s outdated Qualcomm Stadium and DISTRIBUTE a new one in Chula Vista.
►I agree because if they move to Chula Vista then they are not moving to SL.A.
►I also agree because they don’t have no plans to move to L.A.
►I also agree because they want to stay.
►I think the most interesting fact is that they are planning to build this stadium but chargers don’t want to leave.

Woman killed

The article that I read about today was about who police say was thrown off her balcony of her 2 story condominium. Ana Valdez age 41 was thrown off her balcony by her former ex-boyfriend the two had been arguing when he threw her off the balcony. Eduardo Duarte age 37 forced Ana out to the balcony where he picked her up and flung her over the side he will face first degree murder charge and others as well. Ana died yesterday from her injuries at 7:30 pm.
Interesting fact- The two had a kid together.
My opinion- I think that was a scandalous thing to do throw his ex-girlfriend off the balcony and kill her. They even have a kid together so now there kid lost his mom and dad. Eduardo did not ACHIEVE anything good.

Summer jobs offered at Metro Career Center’s Job Fair. Everyone from Knott’s Soak City recruiters to Military recruiters were at the job fair. Hundreds of students all across the Metro San Diego area attended the job fair. Hundreds of the graduating students attended the job fair in attempting to gain summer jobs and also to provide others with full-time careers. Mark Cafferty, CEO of the San Diego Workforce Partnership stated that the unemployment rate is higher then they would like it to be. Anaid Ceron a recruiter from Seaworld stated that many people start of at amusement parks for seasonal jobs and make careers out of it.
Reflection: I think it’s a great thing that the county is trying to get more young youths jobs. Many work programs computed the problem of unemployment by having similar job fairs.
Reflection: It is a good thing to have young youths get jobs because it will keep them off the streets hustling and at the same time it helps the economy.
Reflection: I think it was good that the military recruiters were there because with the war in Iraq expected to last seven more years they need as many “warriors” as they can get.
My Opinion: In my opinion they need more companies to attend the job fairs because time after time there are always the same recruiters at the job fairs. Many of the people who attend are specifically attempting to achieve their goal of getting a job which will lead to a career

The article I read today was about how a friend of the owners of the chargers wanted to build a $800 million dollar stadium in east L.A. Chargers say they want to stay in the San Diego region plus they say they are focused on Chula Vista area. I don’t think any fans would go all the way to east L.A to go watch the chargers plus there is not a lot of fans in that area.

Today in the union tribune I read that Google tweaked its online advertising formula and accelerated its growth outside the united states to produce a first-quarter profit that suppressed analysis’ predictions, alleviating some economic worries battering its stock this year. The news, released after the stock market closed yesterday, lifted Google’s recently dropping shares by more than $76, or 17%. Google’s global appeal propelled the company as more than half it’s revenue came from outside the united states for the first time in its 91/2 year history. The internet search leader said it earned $1.31 billion, or $4.12 a share, during the first three months of the year.

TV ON YOUR CELL PHONE

This morning I read about Verizon now offering live TV locally for their cell phones. You can watch shows such as CSI, 30 ROCK or Mtv’s The Hills on your cell phones. Verizon Wireless is using QUALCOMM's mediaFlo technology, yesterday lunched a service that provides live TV on cell phones in San Diego. The price of the live TV is $13 to $25 a month and includes NBC, CBS, ESPN, MTV, FOX, Nickelodeon.
Reflection- my opinion about the mobile TV is that for travelers is good but not for kids and teen its just a waste of money. Its like we cant wait 15 min to get home and turn on the TV we have to see it 24-7.
Interesting fact-The price of the live TV is $13 to $25 a month and includes NBC, CBS, ESPN, MTV, FOX, Nickelodeon.

The article read was about the beer at PETCO Park. The beer prices are high but the beer is low on alcohol content. The beer that many Padres fans OBTAIN at the ball park is only 3.2 percent alcohol. They DISTRIBUTE these SPECIFIC beers for high prices and do not say that the beer is lowered in content. Many Fans are unaware about the lower beer. Beer bought at a liquor store or at a bar is cheap and the alcohol content VARIES above 3.4. A fan was told by reports that the beer, he at first couldn’t COMPUTE with the information at first. He stated that he paid $8.50 for a 20oz beer.

I think that if people are spending that much money for a beer they should get what they deserve. I also think someone should try to ACHIEVE to get reasonable prices or better price.

Stone pale ale has the most percent in alcohol.
