“760 area code could be pulled from San Diego”
►I read today on the newspaper that the California Public Utilities Commission appears ready to draw a line that will require changing the 760 area code to ACHIEVE a new area code, 442 for telephone users across northern San Diego County. At its meeting today, the COMPUTED five-member commission is scheduled to consider a recommendation to split the SPECIFIC are of San Diego's densely populated North County from the rural and OBTAIN and DISTRIBUTE the territory that makes up most of the rest of the 760 area code. A new 442 area code is VARIES and is needed because population growth and the proliferation of wireless phones and devices has nearly exhausted the 7.9 million telephone numbers made possible when the 760 area code was created in 1997. With 38 combinations of three-digit prefixes remaining, the existing 760 area code is expected to run out of numbers within 17 months.
►I agree because this way the phones will be more easy to dial.
►I also agree because this way the phone lines will be not overcrowded.
►In the other hand I don’t agree because this way all the people needs to change their numbers.
►I think the most interesting fact is that they are making a new area code for this people.

Sweetwater’s High School graduation will be held not on their high school football stadium but at Southwestern College. The City Council which didn’t want it to be held outside of National City and proffered it to be held at the Kimball Bowl on 12th and D Ave. voted this week to relocate the ceremony to Chula Vista. Most of the council members are Sweetwater alumni and had their ceremony’s at the Kimball Bowl and later at the Sweetwater Football Stadium. They had district architects measure the Kimball Bowl and they stated the Bowl was not big enough for the roughly 6,000 people who will be attending the ceremony. This amount of people are excluding the extended family members who also might be attending on the account that this graduating class is the first in many families to receive their high school diploma.
Reflection: I think the ceremony should be held in National City because that’s were all the graduating class has been from.
Reflection: Although I think the ceremony should be held in National City at least the people who are attending will get a free ride to the event.
Reflection: It’s a good thing that Southwestern aloud the Sweetwater Union High School District to have their ceremony’s there their campus.
My Opinion: In my opinion the ceremony should be held in National City. I think that because the students have grown up their and they should graduate in their own town. But it is a generous idea that the school relocated it to the Southwestern campus because there will be enough room for all people who will attend this memorable event.

Today I read an article about a new gadget that resembles a alarm clock but its squishy like a beanbag. They say its being marketed as cute. It is a tiny Linux computer with a touch screen device connects via Wi-Fi to the internet and can stream information or music. The info either scrolls across the screen or comes out the speakers. The gadget costs $180 in February.

The article that I read today was about schools and the minimum pass rate. This article talks about the no child left behind act. This act gives students the chance to attend another school, offer publicly funded private tutoring, and even replace the staff. It says that the federal minimum pass rate goes up this year. Meanwhile schools like balboa elementary and other schools continue to fall short even after extensive reforms. The pass rate will rise until it reaches 100% in 2014. it is expected that many more local schools will have to undertake federal reforms. Congress is considering amending no child left behind. Two years ago the plan forced principal Sylvia Gonzalez in balboa elementary to replace 70% of her teachers.
- I think that this is an interesting article. I think that this is a great plan to improve the knowledge of the country. This plan has already given us great improvement.

Beating victim sues bar and attacker

Today I read about a black man who has suffered permanent brain damage from a beating by a Lakeside white supremacists man. Sylvester Wilson has sued the man who beat him and the bar where it happened. Sylvester is seeking what his attorney says will be millions of dollars from Timothy Michael Caban and Don’s cocktail lounge to cover on going medical expenses. The assault took place outside Don’s cocktail lounge on July 8,2006. Sylvester is paralyzed on one side has trouble walking and remembering things and is in constant pain as a result of the brain damage, he also must take medication to control seizures.
Interesting facts- Caban was sentenced to 17 years in prison. It was SPECIFIC he deserved it. He did not ACHIEVE anything by doing this.
My opinion- I think the article was sad because Sylvester will never be the same again and his life was ruined all because of one guy that decided to be racist and beat him up.

Today in the union tribune, I read that the gloomy economic climate has slowed growth in the job market for this spring’s batch for college graduates. Students in the class of 2008 should land a job offers, experts say, but maybe only one instead of two or three that graduates were boosting last year. Robust hiring can be found in some fields such as computer science and engineering, but graduates who had their hearts set on careers in education or certain sectors of the financial industry may need a plan B.

=another shooting=
In this mornings news paper I read about another shooting. This shooting happened in Chula Vista near Broadway. The victim was inside his car when he was approached by other men. Two men walked up to the white four door sedan. One of the men started to argue with the victim in Spanish when the attacker shot him in the head. The victim was about 21 years old and a resident in the area. The police are now looking for both of the men and are cracking down all of Chula Vista stopping crime before it happens. The assailants were in their late teens or early twenties.

=This type of crime is happening more and more often in this area.

=Police is helping avoid this type of scenarios by patrolling the streets more and more every day.

=This crime happened at about 5:50pm and this means that people should of seen who did id and how.

=The police suspect it was gang related and that’s the cause of their sweep.
